Very nice restaurant. The menu is very interesting and the food is good, full of flavours and tasty. There is a full menu gluten-free, and I really appreciated it. The staff is very helpful and kind. The service is perfect and quick. Great choice of beverage. I recommend this place. It's a beautiful surprise.
What a beautiful experience. Food was amazingly priced (we came for lunch), and so delicious. It was out first time trying haggis and was pleasantly surprised. Treated ourselves to dessert too, which were all super yummy! We came on a weekday for lunch and it was well packed, rang ahead for a table and thankfully one was available. The service was fantastic, with the waitresses attentive and accommodating. Would highly recommend!
Had an awesome 2 course meal here on a busy Saturday evening. The staff are superb, super friendly, chatty and efficient. Our meal came out quickly, it was delicious and cooked to perfection. The puddings were awesome and if you do visit - it's the Malteser cheesecake Go and support a small, independent local business. Highly recommended 5*****
This was the third vegan Haggis we tried on our trip throughout Scotland and it was by far the best. Very tasty and a superb whisky sauce aside! Nice choice of local beer as well. Going at lunch time or pre booking a table is recommended.
We have dined in many places in Inverness, mainly Mustard Seed, Rockpool, and Contrast, yet for some reason, we never tried this place until now. Maybe it’s the slightly hidden location or the entrance that could easily be mistaken for the pub next door. It doesn’t offer scenic views or convenient parking, but none of that matters once you step inside. The warm service and incredible food instantly transport you to a place where only the dining experience counts. I can’t imagine the typical Inverness snob coming here for lunch—it doesn’t have an expensive, overly designed interior. Instead, it offers simplicity and a welcoming, family-like atmosphere. We had an amazing family dinner here. We were lucky to get a table, as they were turning people away! The dishes arrived piping hot, and everything was absolutely delicious. What struck me the most was the fantastic variety on the menu—I genuinely struggled to choose because everything sounded so tempting. Prices are reasonable, and a reservation is a must. Don’t be put off by any 1-star or 2-star reviews—try it for yourself!
We had the roast lamb and the sirloin steak, everything was delicious! Super friendly staff and atmosphere
Called in without booking on a February Sunday evening. Not too many people in, hence the lack of atmosphere, but the staff were welcoming and the service was prompt. I had the venison sausages and Mrs D had the chicken on white pudding, both of which were delicious. These were following by a cheeseboard and a highland mess, which were also good. Overall good quality food and good wine at reasonable prices. Very much recommended.
The location above a tavern is more than made up for. No frills, just great food, service & value. The portion sizes are huge so we could only manage a main course each of the home made steak pie which was delicious. I would not hesitate to come back.
